Dr. Faustino Bernadett and his wife Dr. Martha Molina Bernadett have been long-time supporters of The Assistance League of Long Beach, CAMEO, and are featuring the organization in this Nonprofit Spotlight.
For over 30 years CAMEO has supported under-served, academically promising students from the Long Beach Unified School District high schools and Long Beach City College. The Assistance League member volunteers are working professionals who provide one-on-one mentoring support to enhance each student’s educational and personal development.
Dr. Faustino Bernadett and his wife Dr. Martha Molina Bernadett were introduced to CAMEO through Dr. Martha Molina Bernadett’s aunt Rosi Pedersen. Rosi was a long-time member of CAMEO, the professional group of the Assistance League of Long Beach, where she served as their chair for two terms.
CAMEO offers a comprehensive curriculum, including monthly enrichment workshops and cultural activities, paid summer internships with local business partners, and financial aid for educational scholarships, computer equipment and school supplies, complements our mentoring outreach. As students go through the program, they learn the importance of integrating life skills in their growth journey, gain more confidence, and remain more focused along the way.
