Through various programs and character-building experiences, they offer hope and opportunity to their members, helping them develop essential life skills and a solid moral compass. Whether before school, after school, during the summer, or on Friday nights, the Club engages its members in fun and educational activities designed to set them on the path to lifelong success.
Celebrating the Youth of the Year Award
Recently, the Youth of the Year Award ceremony celebrated the remarkable journeys of inspiring teens. Faustino Bernadett and his wife Martha Molina Bernadett were glad to attend and be supportive of the excellent work of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
The three finalists for Youth of the Year 2024 were Frank Osbourne-Russell, Sammantha Martinez, and Oscar Jammott. Oscar emerged as the winner, while Osbourne-Russell and Martinez were the runners-up, with all participants receiving valuable college scholarships.
Oscar has his sights set on Cal State Dominguez Hills to pursue his dream of becoming a history teacher. Beyond academics, he's musically gifted, proficient in piano, drums, and clarinet, and extends his talents to assisting fellow students at school and in the Boys & Girls Clubs with their musical pursuits.
