As a result of COVID-19, there has been a significant decrease in physical activity among youth. More kids are dropping out of sports more than ever before.

As an advocate for health services for children, Dr. Faustino Bernadett is happy to support State of Play which is a summit that will bring together athletes, professionals, and experts in the field of sports and physical activity to discuss the important role of sports in youth health and development, as well as, advance the conversation on play equity and accessibility for all.

Gasol Foundation Childhood Obesity Efforts

Gasol Foundation focuses their efforts in the most underserved communities where children’s health is at greatest risk. They are building a world where children and their families are empowered with the healthy habits, community support and global innovation required to eradicate childhood obesity.


All proceeds from the State of Play event will go directly to Gasol Foundation programming, a nonprofit whose mission is to reduce childhood obesity and promote health habits to children and families. (https://www.gasolfoundation.org/)


About Dr. Faustino Bernadett

Dr. Faustino Bernadett has a long history of serving the underprivileged and professing his love for the community. He is a retired pain management physician from Long Beach, CA who, together with his wife Martha, founded The Molina Foundation in 2004. She is the President and CEO, and he is Vice President and Treasurer, both leading this national nonprofit organization that reduces disparities in access to education and health.


The Molina Foundation works hand-in-hand with community-based organizations in vulnerable communities. They partner with preschool programs, clinics, schools, family service organizations, churches, and other civic organizations serving low-income and at-risk families.


They have a special focus on working with organizations which are making measurable impact in the lives of children and families.
