14th annual gala, "Dancing for Our Stars" (DFOS)

This year, the MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center Foundation is honored to host its 14th annual gala, "Dancing for Our Stars" (DFOS), generously sponsored by Martha and Faustino Bernadett and presented by the Don Temple Family Charitable Foundation. Scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2024, at The Westin Long Beach, this event promises an evening of entertainment, inspiration, and community support.

About the Event

Dancing for Our Stars is not just an event; it's a celebration of courage, commitment, and community involvement. Each year, this gala becomes a pivotal moment for the Long Beach community to come together to support the MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center and MemorialCare Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach. Thanks in part to the dedicated support from Drs. Martha and Faustino Bernadett, this event continues to thrive.

This year's gala will feature a lineup of dancers, each with a personal connection to the hospital's diverse areas of care. These brave individuals, including our own family member, Josephine Molina, will compete for the coveted DFOS Champion Crystal Award, raising funds through "votes" cast by supporters in the form of donations.

Spotlight on Josephine Molina

Among the stars this year is Josephine Molina, sister to Martha Bernadett and sister-in-law to Faustino Bernadett. Josephine, the youngest of the Molina children, has been deeply involved in her family's business from a young age. Today, she stands as the Founder and President of The RuMBa Foundation of Long Beach, dedicated to enhancing access to the arts for children in the local school district.

Josephine is dancing to shine a spotlight on the Neuro Rehabilitation Center at Long Beach Medical Center — a place very close to her heart. Several years ago, her wife Heather was involved in a serious car accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury. Thanks to the dedicated care she received at the Neuro Rehabilitation Center, Heather was able to reclaim her quality of life. This personal experience has fueled Josephine's passion for supporting the center and continuing its mission to improve health and well-being in the community.

Underwriter Sponsors: Drs. Martha and Faustino Bernadett

We are also thrilled to announce that Drs. Faustino and Martha Bernadett are returning as underwriter sponsors for this year's gala. Their unwavering support over the years has been instrumental in advancing the foundation's goals and ensuring the success of the DFOS gala. The Bernadetts' commitment to community health and well-being is a testament to their dedication to the Long Beach area.

Why You Should Attend

The Dancing for Our Stars Gala, backed by Martha and Faustino Bernadett's generous support, is more than just a night of dancing and entertainment. It's an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those served by the Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach. By supporting this event, you are helping to ensure that patients receive the best possible care in their most critical times.
