Leo’s Legacy: Faustino Bernadett Supports Wayward Journey

Faustino Bernadett’s connection to Wayward Journey began through a family connection. After learning that his niece was involved with the nonprofit, he took time to better understand its work supporting rescue animals and the people who foster and adopt them. The organization’s focus on care and community reflects Dr. Bernadett’s own experiences as someone who has adopted a rescue animal.

Leo first came into the Bernadett household as a foster and soon became a permanent member of the family. After Leo’s passing, Faustino “Tino” Bernadett and his wife, Martha, chose to honor his memory by sponsoring the Grass Valley Animal Shelter’s puppy play yard, known as Leo Land. The play yard now provides a safe space for young dogs as they grow and prepare for adoption.

In addition to this effort, Dr. Bernadett supported Wayward Journey through a donation. He also shared a poem in memory of Leo, acknowledging the resilience of rescue animals and the commitment of those who care for them.
