The National Museum of the American Latino continues to celebrate and preserve the rich contributions of Latino culture in the U.S. through a series of evolving exhibitions. While ¡Presente! A Latino History of the United States remains accessible as an engaging online experience, the Molina Family Latino Gallery is currently being renovated to make way for its next exhibition, ¡Puro Ritmo! The Musical Journey of Salsa. The ¡Presente! exhibition features compelling stories, unique artifacts, and interactive displays that encourage visitors to discover how Latino communities have influenced the nation’s cultural identity.
As a former board member of the Smithsonian Latino Center, Faustino Bernadett has long supported efforts to amplify Latino stories and representation within the Smithsonian and across the country. Together with his wife, Dr. Martha Molina Bernadett, he continues to champion educational and cultural programs that promote inclusion and celebrate the diverse voices of the Latino community. Their dedication reflects the gallery’s mission to ensure Latino heritage is honored, shared, and remembered for generations to come.
Dr. Bernadett’s ongoing collaboration with Smithsonian Latino initiatives has helped deepen the connection between culture, education, and public awareness. His passion for the arts and his commitment to accessibility emphasize the value of creating spaces that elevate Latino achievements as an integral part of the American experience.
The ¡Presente! exhibition continues to honor both historic and contemporary trailblazers whose courage, creativity, and leadership have left a lasting impact from educators and activists to innovators and artists. These stories reflect the same values that Faustino “Tino” Bernadett and his family embrace: community, opportunity, and representation.
As the Smithsonian works toward the creation of the National Museum of the American Latino in Washington, D.C., the Molina Family Latino Gallery remains a meaningful testament to what can be achieved when culture, philanthropy, and vision come together.
